I have developed some games in the past and have been trying to bring this skill into the Amateur Investor for some time. What I have come up with is a mock-trading program where you start with around $10,000 in fake money and invest. All the fun of investing without any of the risks. The final version may end up also including bonds, commodities such as oil, precious minerals, crypto, bank loans, and maybe even real estate. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
I am going to have two polls up, one asking about game interest and another about a core component of the game, that is if it would be preferable to have real-time numbers that are accurate for stock info, or fake numbers. Fake numbers would allow the game to move much faster and would be a more unique experience for the user. For example, a user could receive a fake report on the program talking about an acquisition. But instead of waiting for months, if not years, the buyout would happen 10 minutes later, with game time passing at a much faster rate than normal time. Fake time/numbers would mean faster gameplay, while real would be almost identical to normal trading. If you are looking for a more unique experience, the fake numbers/time would be more unique, and also more of a game. Both options have their own benefits, so I’m leaving it up to my readers.
Something to add on:
If it’s using real time information it will be closer to an investment tool, while fake is basically a game. So it depends whether you want a tool or a game
If it doesn't use real time info, it could be "gamed" in the same way your Dad gamed the currency change thing at the airport many years ago....ask him if you aren't familiar with what I'm talking about
