Typically I find most political campaigning and activism to either not affect more or very slightly negatively impact me. For example, I can promise you that not one person has ever been blocked in the road by a group of protesters and felt in any way that they now agree with this group more.

However, in this election, a new form of activism has begun which I am a massive fan of. Essentially, billionaires give you free money. Last year a couple of Republicans did this to get enough signers to qualify for the Republican primary.

Just yesterday, Elon Musk asked Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina residents to sign a petition to support the constitutional rights of free speech and the right to bear arms. In exchange, you receive money in a varying payout structure. Until November 5th, signers of the petition have a chance to get $1 million in sweepstakes that occur daily. Additionally, for each person you refer, a $47 bonus is earned. Finally, if you live in Pennslyvania you get $100 for signing the petition and $100 per referral. So essentially you are getting a free lottery ticket + bonus money for referral.

While this isn’t going to be some scheme to set you up for life, I am generally a fan of getting money for nothing, and you can probably make a couple of hundred dollars by just signing the petition and forwarding it to a couple of friends and family who live near you.
